Celebrate Life Every Day

Updated: Mar 15, 2022

Today is Chinese Lunar New Year. This year marks the first year that my mother-in-law will not be celebrating with us.

Over the past 2 years, I have lost all of my grandparents. I am truly blessed to have known my grandparents and have wonderful memories of them. But, the most painful loss has been the passing of my mother-in-law in June 2021. Seeing my husband's sadness hit me hard. Seeing the love of my life breakdown in tears, made me cry. Seeing my husband so vulnerable, a side I have never seen before, made me love him even more. Her passing devastated our entire family. She was the glue that held our family together. However, her passing has made our family grow even stronger. Today, at every traditionally Chinese holiday, we would celebrate as a family by celebrating the time she was with us. Let us celebrate every day to the fullest.

"What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply become part of us."

- Helen Keller

Here are some ways to celebrate life every day:

  • Be grateful for every moment

  • Celebrate the joys

  • Show gratitude

  • Focus on all the good in your life

  • Let go of the past and appreciate what you have now

The passing of my mother-in-law has made me realize that I am capable of more. I have so much more to give in this lifetime. I truly want to help those in my life and those that seek my help.
